Join Tao Orion and Abel Kloster of Resilience Permaculture Design for a tour of the water earthworks at the Center for Rural Livelihoods. We’ll talk about the design, implementation, and permitting process for water harvesting in Oregon. This tour is hosted in collaboration with the Permaculture Land Users Group of Oregon - PLUG-Oregon

Part II: Forestry
Sunday, June 9th, 2pm at CRL

Join Abel Kloster, CRL's Restoration Forestry Program Manager, and Matthew Hall, our former forester from 1990-2008, for a tour of our ecological forestry project. 
CRL's forest has been maintained for more than 40 years as a demonstration and research site for ecologically based forest management - articulating an alternative to methods currently applied in most of our region's industrial forests.

Part III: Agroforestry
Sunday, September 15th, 2pm at CRL

Join Abel Kloster for an introduction to Agroforestry in Oregon. We will discuss the different practices that are being applied in our region and opportunities to get technical and financial support to implement agroforestry on farms and forests across the state. We will tour systems and species on CRL's campus and have samples of some local agroforestry products. Come prepared to network with other agroforestry enthusiasts!

Sunday, November 10th, 2pm at CRL

Join Chris Foraker of Cascadia Vernacular for a tour of CRL's innovative building projects and learn about the future of carbon neutral construction. We will also discuss the affordability challenge of natural building with experts (TBA) in the field.

Practitioner Gathering
Sunday, January 12th, 2025

Join us in exploring how local practitioners can collaborate within and across fields of ecological land stewardship, natural building, and in other sectors. There will be a short presentation about models about effective economic collaboration and a discussion about how to build together. Practitioners in these fields are especially encouraged to attend. Lunch will be provided.
