Class description: In this class, participants will gain a clear sense of what meditation is by: receiving basic instruction on meditation and mindfulness; practicing different types of each and having the opportunity to share and ask questions about their experience and broader practice. Trauma-sensitive techniques will be offered. Appropriate for those new to and more familiar with meditation. 

Mariah Freemole has been teaching mindfulness in the Pioneer Valley since August 2018. Her personal commitment to studying and practicing mindfulness began 17 years ago and she is inspired to teach meditation practices to people of all ages.  Mariah currently teaches meditation to students around the country online and is the Mindfulness Facilitator at the Cancer Connection. She also teaches at the Pioneer Valley Shambhala Meditation Center in Northampton. Mariah practices in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition and is a graduate of the Engaged Mindfulness Institute's teacher certification program.
