Informed Consent & Thanks!
Hello!
My name is Zoë D’Agostino. Dr. Jennie Willis and I are researchers from Colorado State University in the Biology department. We are conducting a research study on understanding preferences of adopters related to the behavior and medical status of shelter dogs.
The title of our project is “Adopter Tolerability in Shelter Dog Behavior and Medical Needs by Geographic Region.” The Principal Investigator is Dr. Jennie Willis from the Department of Biology, and I am the Co-Investigator. We would like you to take this anonymous online survey. Participation will take approximately 2 – 5 minutes. Your participation in this research is voluntary. We will not collect your name or personal identifiers. When we report and share the data to others, we will combine the data from all participants.
There are two qualifications to participate in this study: (1) You must be over 18; (2) You must have a dog or be considering adopting a dog in the future. If you decide to participate in the study, you may withdraw your consent and stop participation at any time without penalty.
We hope to gain more knowledge on how to help animal shelters better align dogs they are placing up for adoption with future homes! Your responses will help us accomplish this goal! There are no direct benefits to you.
There are no known risks to participating in this study. It is not possible to identify all potential risks in research procedures, but the researcher(s) have taken reasonable safeguards to minimize any known and potential (but unknown) risks.
When you SUBMIT your survey, you will get our contact information if you are curious about the results of our study and want to reach out!
Thank you so much again!
