A certification course offered in partnership with Family Counselling Centre of Brant and Laurier University.
It is a course for adults (18 years or older) living with intellectual disabilities who want to make a difference in their community!
Students who are accepted into this course will learn valuable leadership skills in a classroom setting, and will have an opportunity to practice those skills by taking a leadership role in their community.
Starts: January 30, 2020 (every Thursday evening, 6:00pm-8:00pm)
Meet and Greet: January 21, 2020 at 6:00pm-7:30pm
Length: 10 weeks (including classroom and placement), approximately 6 hours per week.
Cost: FREE
Location: Laurier University Brantford Campus
This is a course for people who:
* Are interested in learning new leadership skills and using those skills in their community!
* Are living with an intellectual disability.
* Have completed at least ONE volunteer, professional, and/or personal development experience (and can provide 2 references).
* Are committed to attending all classes and community placements.
Registration is limited.
