June 9 - Alberta Birds Program
Learn to identify some common species of birds by listening to the calls of birds in the area and by using the Audubon app. Watch birds at the WildBoreal Bird feeders (attempt to feed them by hand by holding a palmful of bird seed near the feeders) to observe their colors. Review posters and images of birds that can be easily spotted by there vibrant colors and unique sounds.

We will then embark on a nature walk on the cleared trails and try to identify the birds that you hear and see along the way, along our walk we will collect next building materials.

After the walk we will participate in a bird nest building activity and learn about bird beaks and their uses, by using every day items to 'eat' like a bird!
