Maylands Neighbourhood SOUP is a micro-granting dinner for creative projects that benefit our local community. To be eligible, the project needs to be based in Maylands and can include art, green space, social justice, education, technology and other ideas. Here’s how it works:
$10 is paid on the door, and gets each audience member a vote. Soup, bread (and sometimes other food) is provide free of charge.
Over dinner, they listen to four-minute pitches from up to four people working on projects that help the local community.
Everybody then votes for their favourite project that they’d like to fund
The winning project goes home with all the cash raised at the door; and will return to a future Neighbourhood SOUP dinner (usually three months later) to give us an update !
Our next meeting is coming up on Wednesday 7 August 2019, so get your proposals in before Monday 29 July! Four projects will then be selected and notifications sent out approximately a week prior to the event.
If you are successful you need to be available to attend on the night to give a 4 minute presentation without the assistance of technology and answer any questions.
