PLEASE READ: Expectations for those playing worship on Thursday evenings:
In preparation for our weekly gatherings, you can expect to receive a set list of the songs along with keys, youtube links, and charts attached the Monday of the week that you are scheduled. Sound check will be Thursday evenings at 6:30pm with a rehearsal at 7pm to 7:45pm. Due to not having a mid-week rehearsal, we ask that each individual who is scheduled that week would come prepared to play/sing and be on time at 6:30pm. If you need music printed, please let the worship leader know the day the set list is sent.
In Cru, we desire to be a safe place for anyone to explore life and faith while in college. In this unique context, musicians are invited to use their gifts to honor God in front of others. This type of venue can often be a dangerous place for a person's heart as they may wrestle with performance and the tension between pride and humility.
If an individual on the team sees themself in a place of un-health or burnout, out of intentional care for their well-being and the entire Cru movement, leaders may ask individuals to step away from serving on the team for a given amount of time to experience refreshment, restoration, and realignment with God. At the end of the day, our heart for every student on campus is that they would thrive in all of who they are as they grow in knowing and connecting with God.
Lastly, please note that after submitting this questionnaire, one of our leaders will reach out to you to schedule you to come to a rehearsal so you can understand the mechanics of a Thursday Cru with the worship team. We will also have you play or sing one of the songs from that weeks setlist with the team as a short audition and discern if your skills work well with the style and sound we as a Cru movement are striving for.
