Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: High Country Needs Assessment
The High Country Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is working to create a Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) program for the High Country region. In North Carolina, grandparents and older relatives are the primary caregivers for nearly 1 in 10 children under 18 years of age. As the population is only expected to continue to age, it is important that our communities work together to help older adult caregivers in the High Country.
The High Country AAA is asking for your input to improve the organization's understanding of the needs of older adults who serve as parents throughout our seven-county region. It is our desire to create a network of passionate advocates for grandparents raising grandchildren and adults with disabilities. Please complete this survey to the best of your knowledge. Your assistance is greatly valued and appreciated! Your responses will be used to inform the creation of the GRG program and will be kept confidential to AAA staff. Thank you for your dedication to the older adult caregivers of Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey Counties.
