THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN NOMINATING A YOUTH TO BECOME AN IMAGINE NB DELEGATE!
Imagine NB is an intercultural leadership accelerator that seeks to carve the path towards a more inclusive New Brunswick. It enables youth from around the globe to take their leadership to the next level and play key roles in the future of the province.
To achieve this, we bring together a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse group of high school youth who have demonstrated leadership potential within their schools and larger communities.
Imagine NB youth participate in series of weekend overnight retreats and virtual sessions delivered over a 1-year term (following the school calendar). The retreats and sessions explore diverse topics and prominent economic and social sectors in the province that engage youth in global citizenry and competency training, skill-building through experiential learning opportunities, dialogues and reflections on social justice issues and topics youth care about, and opportunities to give back and build stronger community bonds.
Any person in New Brunswick may nominate an eligible youth for the Imagine NB Program. Youth will then have to complete their application to be considered for the program.
At NBMC, we are all different. That is one of our biggest strengths - it enables us to continue #GrowingTogether. We are looking to create an inclusive cohort representing diverse walks of life including but not limited to: gender identity, immigration journeys, language, geography, and ethnicity. Below are the eligibility requirements:
- Be in grades 10, 11, or 12 starting September 2021.
- Have an upper-basic proficiency level in 1 of the official languages of Canada.
- Be a newcomer, immigrant or refugee youth living in New Brunswick (i.e. permanent resident or recently became Canadian citizen).
- Able to maintain a full-time commitment for the full program.
