STEM creates life long passionate learners and we are thrilled to be partnering with AVID to bring a virtual robotics STEM Academy to our 21st Century students this summer.  This is an AMAZING opportunity.  There are so many advancements and opportunities for students in the fields of computers and robotics and we want our students to be excited and comfortable working with these platforms.

STEM Academy is a 8-day summer experience for students in grades 3–7, offering fantastic fun in our supportive, encouraging, and empowering learning environment. STEM Academy will engage students through real-world problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork aligned to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Oh, and you'll be working with virtual robots and other cool tech (no prior robotics know-how necessary).

The 21st Century Summer P.E. program will be a dynamic experience for our learners!  There will be guest speakers focusing on the beautiful Alaskan outdoors.  We will have original virtual field trips that incorporate fun and active fitness components.  In addition, there will be an Olympic theme that will focus on an appreciation for these international games, in which the credo is "the most important thing is not to win but to participate."  These Olympic activities and events will incorporate some skill instruction, friendly competition that will reinforce positive sportsmanship and individual perseverance.  This program has been developed with student diversity and virtual learning in mind.  Each participant will be given a set of equipment that they can use during the program and keep for their own use at home.

All our teachers are excited to welcome the students to this unique summertime learning experience and to be actively engaged for the entire two weeks.

There is no cost for this program.
Program will take place virtually Monday - Friday, July 27 - August 7, 2020.  9am to 12pm AND 1pm - 4pm.
Application deadline is July 20, 2020.
