The UMass Boston Institute for Early Education Leadership and Innovation is proud to announce the University of Massachusetts Boston Early Childhood Fellowship for undergraduate students working in the field of Early Childhood Education (this is also open for undergraduate students who wish to work in the field of ECE).
The purpose of the UMB Early Childhood Fellowship is to support individuals that want to complete a Bachelor's Degree at Umass Boston in Early Childhood Education. Our goal through this fellowship is to support the students with the following:
- Financial support to cover the cost of courses and fees (other financial aid received will be taken into consideration).
- Academic support (advising, mentoring, and tutoring)
- A need-based stipend each fall and spring semester to pay for expenses incurred to attend school, such as school supplies, transportation and childcare
Fellowship Requirements:
The following are requirements for all fellows in the program.
- You must be enrolled at UMass Boston as an undergraduate student by Summer 2024.
- You must have a minimum of 60 credits.
- Fellows must be able to take full-time coursework (minimum 12 credits) offered in person on the UMass Boston campus.
- Fellows must be able to complete their bachelor’s degree by December 2026.
- Fellows must agree to work in the City of Boston as an Early Childhood Educator for three years after graduation from the program.
- Educators interested in working with Infants and Toddlers will be prioritized admission to the Fellowship program.
