Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a beaver? Maybe you've been dreaming of joining the MOBP team in the field for a day of BDA-building or native plant mulching? Do you want to support a local nonprofit and help improve the biodiversity and climate resilience of our region?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should come to MOBP's Volunteer Training Day on Saturday May 3rd! Hosted at the Winthrop National Fish Hatchery, this day will be an opportunity for interested community members to learn about different volunteer opportunities with the Methow Okanogan Beaver Project and to learn skills such as caring for relocated beavers at the hatchery, surveying local streams for beaver activity, and staking out beaver ponds to get beaver photos and videos for our outreach materials.
As a small non-profit, volunteers are an essential component to MOBP's success! If you have unique skills that you'd like to contribute to a beaver-y application (ex. art for a t-shirt design, videography experience, techy inventions, etc.) we'd love to hear from you.
Where: Winthrop National Fish Hatchery
