Session Description and Speaker Bio

Elections Canada will show you how to use our new blended learning guides to support your students, no matter what your learning environment. In this interactive workshop, participants will try out our blended learning tools to help students explore questions like: How inclusive is our democracy? or How can you take action to make a difference? Discover our ready-made, non-partisan lessons to integrate inquiry-based learning in your social studies, history, politics or geography curriculum.

Zoe Flatman (she/her) is an award-winning teacher with over 25 years of experience teaching Civics, History, Economics and Social Sciences in the Toronto District School Board. She has been a curriculum writer for the Ontario Ministry of Education, and is currently on a secondment with Elections Canada as the civic education coordinator in the Greater Toronto Area. Zoe has a passion for global citizenship, sustainability, and civic engagement.
