Volunteer to serve on Lathisms Scholarship selection committee 
We are looking for volunteers to serve on the scholarship selection committee. In particular, we encourage the following individuals to volunteer: graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, research scientists, industry & academic professionals, and faculty from Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), 4-year colleges/universities, and/or liberal arts colleges.

The application deadline for applicants is the February 29, 2024 and a tentative timeline for review is as follows:
  • March-April: The applications will be divided up and reviewed during these months; this window is where you would be expected to volunteer your time.
  • May: The scholarship committee chairs will create a shortlist based on reviewers' rankings during this month. They will then hold discussion hours if reviewers would like to give feedback on the chairs' list.
  • June: The scholarship recipients will be announced and distribution of funds will begin.
We encourage you to volunteer as much time as you have capacity, with a full commitment estimated at 20-25 hours depending on the number of applicants. Note that no prior experience serving on such a committee is required.
