Year 8 Tongariro Crossing 2020
After a bit of a false start last year we have planned to get up and complete the Tongariro Crossing for those in Year 8 who wish to join us on 5th and 6th of March.

For this event to work we will be relying on parental support for both transport, supervision and support with the walk. We will be needing at least 6 adults being able to join us for the trip. A fairly good level of fitness is required to complete this walk. My personal priority is with the students and parents need to be confident to manage themselves on the walk first.

The walk is not compulsory but I believe every student has the potential to complete the walk and it will be a great way to build our team culture for 2020.
As this walk is over an alpine environment, there will be some essential clothing items required to ensure students are prepared for the ever changing weather.
A detailed gear list wild be added to this document.
Tramping boots are not essential but solid walking shoes (sports shoes) are fine.

Please indicate if you are keen for your child to be involved and also if you think you could help us out for the experience. We need a minimum of 6 adults walking the track with us.

If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch.

Regards

Greg Allan
