All prospective members of the 2024 "Tower of Power" Drumline will need to take a drumline placement audition. All materials for the audition can be found in the drumline packet below. This packet will be available both digitally and physically. Please see Mr. Buckstein for a physical copy.

All interested candidates will be responsible for preparing the entire packet on the following three instruments of the drumline: snare drum, tenors (quads), and bass drum. Marching Cymbals will also be a part of the drumline, but will not be assessed during drumline auditions. During auditions, we will hear everyone play different parts so we can determine what iteration of the line will be the best for our band. Everyone will get the chance to play snare, quads, and bass drums on the exercises in the packet. 

If you are interested in playing snare drum or tenors (quads), there will be a separate, individual audition. You will prepare measure 27-57 of "White Rabbit" and then perform that piece for a panel of judges. This will be a blind audition. You are permitted to audition for both snare AND tenors if you wish. 

You will be asked to rank what you'd like to play in order of preference.

Auditions will take place Wednesday, May 15th at 7 pm. Because we will be doing blind auditions, you must attend auditions on this day to be considered for snare or tenors. 

DRUMLINE PACKET

There will be an open rehearsal on Tuesday, April 30th from 5-7 pm. This rehearsal is primarily for those who are new to marching percussion, however returnees are welcome to attend as well. Technique specific to marching percussion will be addressed, and this will be the time to get help on rudiments, the audition packet and the audition piece.
