Thank you for taking the time to nominate a member of our profession for one of the prestigious WACAC Awards. The awards are kept confidential and will be announced at the Membership Meeting on April 18th at the 2023 SuperConference in Spokane, WA. Please submit all nominations by March 10, 2023.

MURDOCH-FINKS NEW ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR AWARD - Given to a relatively new college admission counselor who has contributed time and talent to the work of our organization and shows promise of future leadership within WACAC.

STEVE HANKINS NEW HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR AWARD - Given to a relatively new high school or community-based organization counselor who has contributed time and talent to the work of our organization and shows promise of future leadership within WACAC.

JOSEPH P. ALLEN HUMAN RELATIONS AWARD - Given to a member who has made an extraordinary commitment of talent and effort on behalf of underserved students and/or counselors.

JUEL LEE MENTORSHIP AWARD - Given to a member who has provided advice and extraordinary support for young professionals in our field over an extended period of time.

KATY MURPHY SERVICE AWARD - Given to a member who has made extraordinary contributions to the work of WACAC over a period of years.

WACAC SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD - Given in gratitude and appreciation for the outstanding support given to members of WACAC.

ARZOLA SCHOLARSHIP - The Arzola Scholarship was created in recognition of Arthur’s work in the field and to continue to support the mission of those who work with underrepresented student communities, thus supporting the mission of the IDEA committee and WACAC. The scholarship covers the cost of registration for the IDEA pre-conference workshop, WACAC Annual Conference registration, transportation to the conference, lodging and meals. The Arzola Scholarship was created in recognition of Arthur’s work in the field and to continue to support the mission of those who work with underrepresented student communities, thus supporting the mission of the IDEA committee and WACAC. The scholarship covers the cost of registration for the IDEA pre-conference workshop, WACAC Annual Conference registration, transportation to the conference, lodging and meals.

BARNHART/SCHULTZ SCHOLARSHIP - Each year, the WACAC Nominations Committee seeks applications from public high school counselors/college advisors and community college counselors/transfer center coordinators who would like to attend the National ACAC conference. Applicants for this scholarship must be members of WACAC and never have attended an NACAC Conference. The scholarship covers registration for the NACAC Conference at the Early Bird rate, travel, accommodations (double occupancy) and meals as stipulated in the current Fiscal Policy.
