I believe that “SHH!...(The Library Musical)” portrays the American Library in a positive manner and aligns with the goals pertaining to ALA Priority Area D: Public Awareness in the following manners: 

  1. The dramaturgical elements related to library operations are accurate.

  2. The character wants and situations feel relevant to my experience as a librarian. 

  3. This musical promotes libraries as a significant part of the cultural, educational, and economic systems of American society. 

Because of the aforementioned reasons, I endorse this story as a valuable portrayal of the American Library to theater-going audiences and endorse this musical as “Librarian Approved!”
