Let's come together during a time of social disconnect.

Since COVID-19, there has been a 61% increase in homelessness in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, leading to a 52% increase in demand for services. In order for us to provide these much needed resources to residents in the DTES, we are building a fierce group of fundraising champions (YOU!)

We stand by the value of collaboration over competition. We recognize that the influence of our impact can strengthen in numbers, and that with the combination of our strengths and the accumulation of our collective resources, we can do so much.

To sign up and become a fundraising champion, follow the steps below :) If you have any questions, please email me at christina@employtoempower.com. The person who fundraises the most will win a round trip from Vancouver > Nanaimo valued at $700. Thanks to Helijet for their generosity!

In order for this event to happen, we need to fundraise $18,000 to purchase personal protection gear, event equipment (tents, venue cost, peers to support security line up and set up, five heaters, a truck to transport donations to the community), cover operations, and build a small endowment. See breakdown below.

Anything fundraised additionally will go towards our programs, which allows emerging entrepreneurs in the Downtown Eastside to receive education on starting a business, individualized mentorship, an opportunity to market and sell their work, and media opportunities.
