Building and Supporting Youth Movements

Each Strategic Action Session will have specific common objectives. Please indicate which of these areas you are experienced in (if any)

Weave in fundamental systemic change goals

Identify targets for protests, especially root cause targets including entities/people responsible and identifying the real culprits

Include national/International solidarity components

Utilize non-traditional & strategic alliance building

Develop working groups/network for communications, follow up, implementation

Identify real solutions - such as Livelihoods based in a Just Transition framework

Examine local/state/federal gov’t policy, regulation, funding & how to address it. (If appropriate)

Create Media: Who controls the narrative: Countering disinformation, creating our own messaging

Plan for next steps, concrete action to more forward

Identify obstacles to success and means to address them

To help ensure a successful outcome, each Strategic Action Session will be organized and coordinated by a team that will include the following roles. Please indicate which role (if any) you would like to fill:

Bottom line campaign/community organizer(s)

Presenter(s) on ABCs of the issue(s)

Activists/campaigners on the history of the struggle and opportunities for momentum building

Strategists who can help the session group identify concrete next steps and outcomes and pathways to achieve them

Facilitators to help the group reach its objectives

Vibes watcher/conflict resolution facilitator
