UNDERSTAND AND AGREE to the following:
That competing in the event involves paddling on the Hawkesbury River and I am aware of the hazards involved.
That the details submitted by me on the entry form are true and accurate.
That I can swim at least 50 meters and I am fit to paddle the length of the event.
That I will wear an approved lifejacket properly fastened at all times on the water.
That I will have the following attached to me at all times‚ an approved whistle, a small waterproof torch or light stick.
That I will carry the following items so that they are within easy reach whilst in the boat.
A space blanket,
food, water or other suitable drink,
a waterproof torch,
a compass and/or GPS.
That I will carry appropriate maps, which are downloadable from the website - https://www.canoeclassic.net/maps .
That I will have at least one landcrew who will be available to assist me at the Start, Checkpoints D, I, for all entrants as well as FINISH for entrants in the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic and Classic Relays
That my boat will have sufficient fixed buoyancy at each end to float horizontally if completely filled with water.
That I understand the minimum sponsorship requirements and I will comply with the rules prescribed by the Association.
That the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic reserves the right to alter the advertised course or cancel the event if conditions, in the opinion of the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic officials warrant, with no refunds being issued.
To hold the Association, its officers, servants, agents and sponsors harmless against loss or injury of any kind incurred or suffered by me arising out of or in conjunction with my participation in The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, The Wisemans Dash or the Classic Relays whether or not such loss or injury shall have been caused or contributed to by any act, omission or negligence of the Association, its officers, servants, agents or sponsors.
To indemnify the Association, its officers, servants, agents or sponsors against any claim or demand whatsoever made by any person or persons arising out of or in conjunction with my participation in The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, Wisemans Dash or Classic Relay.
That the Association’s insurance for the event does not cover me, my equipment or support crew.
That non-compliance with any of the above conditions will lead to immediate disqualification.
