Full Moon Jam Halloween Parades 2022
The Chicago Full Moon Jam is excited to be participating in two parades this October! This form will get you signed up and in the information loop on both. Choose your adventure!

We have a limited amount of spots open for fire performers, drummers and LED dancers in each parade, and it will be first come, first serve, so sign up asap. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, October 27th. Feel free to sign up for one, or both, or neither! We hope you can attend, as these will likely be the last FMJ Events of the season and we'd love to see you all again!

** PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS CAREFULLY **

FIRST - THE ARTS IN THE DARK Halloween Parade will be on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29th. This is an incredibly important parade for us to turn out for, as it brings tremendous goodwill from the city, a fantastic audience, and participation from artists and groups all over the city. This year it will once again be down State Street from Wacker to Van Buren.

FMJ Organizers will be on-site at 4:00pm. Performers and drummers are encouraged to arrive between 4:30 PM and 4:45 PM (near Lasalle and Wacker). You must check-in *** before 5:00 PM *** and attend the Orientation to have your fire props and costume inspected in order participate. The parade will start at 6:00 PM sharp. Parking will be extremely difficult, so plan accordingly.

All Fire Performers must have taken a FMJ Fire Safety Training since 2018 in order to participate. As with every Jam, we will be limited to a maximum of 10 fire performers being lit at the same time and we must maintain a 1-to-1 safety-performer ratio at all times, so we will be following a similar format to the Jams by following the spin-one, safety-one system. Once you have finished performing, you will give your prop to the nearest safety and take their towel, so that they can return to the truck and fuel up themselves. You will then safety for the nearest performer. Everyone must maintain a distance of 15 feet from the audience at all times.

Drummers and LED dancers will lead the precession and must remain in front of the fueling truck and the fire performers.

As usual, we request all participants wear a fire-safe festive costume that is primarily red, black, and/or white. The Full Moon Jam will provide white gas, towels, and all fuel depot equipment, so you will only need to bring your props/instruments, a mask, and water. Please do NOT bring more than 2 props as space will likely be extremely limited on the truck.

Be sure to eat before you arrive and bring water. Also, plan for possible rain and cold. This is Chicago.

We will need two volunteers to walk in front of the procession to carry the FMJ banner for the parade. If you or anyone you know is interested in being a dedicated FMJ banner-bearer, please have them fill out this form! If we can not find volunteers to be banner-bearers, performers will need to rotate out holding it.

SECOND - THE HAUNTED HALSTED Halloween Parade will be happening on MONDAY, OCTOBER 31st, on Halloween night. Once again, everyone must arrive by 5:00pm at HALSTED & ALDINE to check-in for orientation. We will be walking north to the end of the parade route at Halsted and Waveland. The Full Moon Jam will be supplying white gas, towels, and safety for this parade as well.

** EVERYONE MUST WEAR FIRE SAFE CLOTHING! **

We expect both parades to end by around 8:30pm.

A reminder and more details will be sent in an email on the 27th, a couple days prior to the first parade. As always, email us at info@fullmoonjam.org if you have any questions.
