Arrive to your tutoring sessions on time. Contact the AEC at 401-874-2367 or aec@etal.uri.edu if you are going to be late or if you have questions about canceling your session.

Attend weekly tutoring sessions regularly (for weekly sessions only). Students who accumulate more than 2 unexcused absences are subject to the loss of appointment privileges for the rest of the semester.

Communicate ahead of time if you need to miss a tutoring session. Any tutoring session that is canceled within 4 hours of the appointment start time will be marked as a missed session (unexcused absence). *

Participate and communicate. Bring any helpful course materials to tutoring, come prepared with content questions, and be ready to engage with others. *

Be aware of the tutor’s role. Tutors can assist you with content questions, homework questions, and study strategies. Tutors cannot assist you with work such as exam questions or final projects.

Be respectful. Use respectful language during the tutoring sessions and collaborate with your fellow classmates. For online sessions, wear headphones with a microphone to minimize background noise. *
