Join Next Generation Arts for the VIEWS: L'Amour Grande Mural Celebration on Saturday, December 16, 1pm - 3pm at the L'Amoreaux Community Recreation Centre (2000 McNicoll Avenue, Scarborough), where we will be celebrating the unveiling of the mural created by youth participants during the VIEWS program!
VIEWS: L’Amour Grande was a gree placemaking and mural creation program that celebrated the vibrant stories and contributions of youth to the Steeles-L’Amoreaux neighbourhood in North Scarborough. From September to December 2023, youth ages 15-29 participated in intensive workshops focused on building skills in community consultation and research, storytelling, mural design, and painting techniques with the guidance of a community artist and professional muralists.
At this free event, we welcome the community to the newly designed and painted space. Visitors have the opportunity to connect with artists and the local community while enjoying food, games, raffle prizes, and good vibes!
