Cross Trails Ministry is excited to partner with the Southwestern Texas Synod Women of the ELCA by connecting the young adult leaders of our summer staff with congregations who will support them in their ministry.  

Each summer we hire college age staff to minister to the youth who come to camp.  They live with them, play with them, sing with them and pray with them.  They show the campers in words and action what it means to follow God’s call.  

It is difficult and joyful work.  Knowing that someone supports them in it makes all the difference!
 
Most of our staff are on-site for a total of 10 weeks, including 2 weeks of training and 8 weeks of camp.   We plan to hire a total of 55 summer staff.

If you sign up to partner with us in supporting these young faith role models…

Cross Trails Ministry will:
• Send a picture and an introductory note to you about your staff member.
• Send an end of summer thank you letter and video to your congregation from your staff member.

We ask WELCA Congregational sponsors to:
• Include your staff member in your congregation’s prayers.
• Send a welcome to camping ministry package to your staff member with a note introducing your congregation as their prayer partner and a small gift item that represents your city or congregation.  This does not need to be costly, just heartfelt.
• Send an encouraging email or letter once per week from a member of your group to encourage your staff member and remind them that they are in your prayers.  
• If possible, send an end of-summer care package of small items or snacks that can be shared with other camp staff at the end of summer celebration.

Working at camp is probably the hardest job these young adults will ever love.  Knowing that you are praying for them and encouraging them in their ministry, will be such a blessing to these young leaders.  Thank you!
