Kent State Pokemon League Fall 2022 Gym Leader, Elite Four, and Kahuna Applications
Hello! If you are interested in becoming a Gym Leader, Elite Four member, or Kahuna for the Kent State Pokemon League for the Fall 2022 semester and beyond, please fill out the form below. Completing this form does NOT guarantee a position. There may be more applicants than positions available. Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, and Kahunas are considered officers of the League and are expected to show up to officer meetings. Good luck!

League Challenge Information
Concept:
The league challenge is where students can challenge Gym leaders, Elite Four members, and the Champion. They must first gather 8 gym badges and then defeat all Elite Four members consecutively without losing. After doing so, the challenger will then be able to challenge the champion. If they successfully defeat the champion they become the new champion of the Kent State Pokemon League. The TCG Kahuna Challenge functions similarly, but there are only 4 Kuhunas who will give emblems to challengers upon defeat. The challengers who first defeats all Kahunas becomes TCG chmapion and will have to defend their title against other people that have deafted all the Kahunas each week.

Leauge Etiquette:
Challenges must be respectful to KSPL officers.
- The KSPL members are only human and may need time to prepare for challenges.
Challenges must show good sportsmanship.

Video Game Rules:
Challenges can only challenge Gym Leaders and Elite Four members once per week.
To complete the elite challenge challengers must defeat all elite members consecutively without losing.
(This can be done at consecutive weeks if there is not enough time)
Challengers can only bring 2 pokemon that are super effective against the gym leaders and elite four.
Challengers must battle with the gym leader's an elite four's preferred battle style (single or double).
Challengers will need to have a Nintendo Switch and a copy of Pokemon Sword or Shield.

No mythical or legendary Pokemon can be used in battles.

Banned Pokemon:
Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Zacian, Zamazenta, Eternatus, Calyrex, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini, Keldeo, Genesect, Diancie, Volcanion, Magearna, Marshadow, Zeraora, Meltan, Melmetal, Zarude

TCG Rules:
This challenge will use gym leader format.
Challengers must have a 60 card deck that follows gym leader format.
Challenges can only challenge Kahunas once per week.

Gym Leader Format information:
This format uses the same rules as the officail Pokemon TCG but with extra additions.
Each deck must contain 60 cards.
Only 1 type of a card can be used.
-  Example: 1 Professor Research and 1 Pikachu per deck
No rule box Pokemon can be used (i.e.: ex, EX, GX, V, Vmax, and Union)
You can play any number of energy cards
Any card from any set can be used.
Gym Leader Role Explanation and Expectations
Role:
Gym Leaders are officers of the Kent State Pokemon League. They accept challenges and battle just as in the Pokemon games. Once defeated Gym Leaders will give the challengers a gym badge. This role only has 8 postions and not all types will be used.

Expectations:
- Gym leaders must have a nintendo switch and a copy of either Pokemon Sword or Shield.
- Attened weekly meetings (if you can not please let the president and vice president know)
- If a gym leader will be absent then another gym leader can serve as a subsitute. In order to prepare a subsitute the gym leader must prepare a rental team for the subsitute to use.
- Design gym badges (a simple sketch would do, and the artist will help create the badge)
- Accept challenges
- Have good sportmanship
- Help challengers improve and give useful tips
Elite Four Role Explanation and Expectations
Role:
Elite Four members are officers of the Kent State Pokemon League. They accept challenges and battle just as in the Pokemon games. This role only has 4 postions and if there are not enough elite four members gym leaders will serve as subsitutes.

Expectations:
- Elite Four members must have a nintendo switch and a copy of either Pokemon Sword or Shield.
- Attened weekly meetings (if you can not please let the president and vice president know)
 - If a elite four member will be absent then a gym leader can serve as a subsitute. In order to prepare a subsitute the elite four must prepare a rental team for the subsitute to use.
- Accept challenges
- Have good sportmanship
- Help challengers improve and give useful tips
TCG Kahuna Role Explanation and Expectations
Role:
TCG Kahunas are the tcg portion of the KSPL. They will battle challngers using gym leader format. If deafeted Kuhanas will give the challeges an emblem (badge) to the challeger. Kahunas must have a 60 card deck that follows gym leader format.

Expectations:
- Attened weekly meetings (if you can not please let the president and vice president know)
- Accept challenges
- Desgin gym emblem (a simple sketch would do, and the artist will help create the emblem)
- Have good sportmanship
- Help challengers improve and give useful tips
