The Woodford County Farm Bureau established the Woodford County Farm Bureau Foundation in 1998. The WCFB Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation organized to promote agriculture in Woodford County. The foundation is funded through contributions by Farm Bureau members.
For the 2024 school year a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded.
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:
•
Be an incoming freshman or current college or university student. This does not include high school students receiving dual credits.
•
Be a member or dependent of a member of the Woodford County Farm Bureau. (Dependents of WCFB Board Members are not eligible.)
•
Career plans must be in an agriculture field.
•
Exhibit potential for successful completion of course of study.
•
Cannot be a previous WCFB Foundation Scholarship recipient.
Consideration will be given to the following criteria in the selection of a scholarship recipient (in no particular order):
•
Scholastic achievement
•
Participation in Agriculture Activities
•
Demonstrated Leadership in school and community activities
In addition to the application, we request
•
a copy of your college transcripts, or incoming freshmen will need to submit proof of course enrollment
•
One character reference.
•
One teacher or professor recommendation
