mobility4(U)s - Become a mobility mentor for young refugees in Europe
mobility4U(s) is a training cycle for youth workers from Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, France and Belgium. Participating in this training cycle will equip you to become a mobility mentor for young refugees in your local context and beyond. As a mobility mentor, you will play a key role in the successful implementation and expanding of our programme moveurope!.

Who can participate?
For this training, we are looking for people of any age and who reside in Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Greece or Belgium and that are active in the field of migration, education and youth. Whether you are a social worker, educator, activist, youth worker, student, passionate or simply interested to learn more and create synergies. The only requirement is good English skills, as most of the activities are hold in English. To participate in the in-person activities in the different EU countries, a travel document is required.
The programme is for a total of 28 persons, however, online activities will be available for the public.

Participation is for free and all costs (travel, accommodation, materials etc) will be covered!
We are looking for people that are interested to be part of the whole (8 months) training programme with the opportunity of further cooperation or work with us!

Our mobility mentor training cycle:
> starts in Bonn, Germany, 22-27 November with an in person training of 4 days, where you will get to know the other participants and be introduced to the whole programme
> Continues with online workshops and seminars during the months of December 2021 to March 2022 (commitment: there will be each month 1 workshop of 1h and 1 seminar of 2-4h followed by self-paced learning)
> Optional: you can do a 3-days job shadowing in Greece or Italy to follow other participant’s work or our partner organisation’s work there (Italy: Associazione Interculturale Universo; Greece: U.S.B.)
> ends in July 2022 with a follow-up training in Grenoble, France.

Content:
Module 1: Introduction to the project, Mobility Mentor concept and importance of promoting voluntary services for young refugees
Module 2: Legal framework for young refugees
Module 3: Voluntary services (national and European programmes, ESC) (characteristics, requirements, organizations involved, funding, benefits and challenges)
Module 4: Mentoring in general and mentoring for international volunteers
Module 5: Guidance for mobility mentors (use of NFE material for target group; guidance preparatory and follow-up, guidance during the stay abroad; first aid kit)
Module 6: Job hunting and local institutions
Module 7: Cultural mediation
Module 8: Communication, networking and partnership
Module 9: Use of Mobility Platform and Mobility KIT


What are the benefits of participating?
→ During the whole programme, you will be guided and supported by our team to effectively support young refugees in your local context to participate in youth mobility programmes. Thanks to the training, you will have gained new skills to start supporting young refugees in their mobility process.
→ You can request individual coaching sessions, if needed
→ We will organize digital get togethers with the other participants and have a digital communication platform where we can exchange our experiences in the mobility mentor journey
→ You will get access to an online platform where all training materials will be shared
→ You will receive a mobility mentor’s KIT
→ You will receive an official certificate of Erasmus+, our organisation and IJAB
→ You will meet professionals of your field of interest from other European countries, you will become part of our European network that today counts X organisations and more than 250 people
→ You will gain new skills and therewith have a higher impact for the people you are working with and for your individual and professional development


What is important for us?
The most important thing for us is your motivation. We are implementing this training for the first time and aim at offering it as a regular offer in the future. We therefore will learn and evaluate together. Therefore, openness and transparent communication is very important to us.
In case you cannot commit for the whole duration of 8 months, we can offer individual solutions.
 As participant and future mobility mentor, you have to make sure that you can get involved in all activities and actively engage in your local contexts.
We are looking for people that are interested to become part of a sustainable network of professionals in the future.
