Please read below before completing this from. THIS FORM IS NOT TO BE USED TO REQUEST ASSISTANCE WITH REMOVAL OF FERAL KITTENS AND/OR CATS.
KPFF DOES NOT ASSIST WITH THE "REMOVAL" AND EUTHANSIA OF FERAL CATS. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR NEAREST SPCA.
KPFF does not have a shelter or a holding facility for feral cats. If kittens are too young to sterilise we will return at a later date to trap them for sterilisation and return them to the premise address on this form.
KPFF can unfortunately only assist in Kempton Park.
COST - R550-00 per cat (Male or Female) This covers only the cost of the surgery. (Trapping and transporting is done free of charge by our amazing volunteers who kindly give their time, own vehicles and fuel)
KPFF can assist with free sterilisations of feral cats in special circumstances. Kindly note that although we offer these for free, we still need to pay the private vets we use to perform the surgery. Please note that there is quite a long waiting list as we are only able to assist with free sterilisations if we have funds available.
Please be advised that there might be a waiting period before we can assist with trapping even if you are paying for the sterilisations. We only have a few volunteers that assists with TNR. We are trying our best to assist everywhere as quickly as possible.
- The applicant will ensure safe access to the premises at a time that is convenient for our volunteer trappers.
- The applicant agrees to stick to their appointment time and not cancel on short notice. 24 hours notice will be required should the applicant wish to reschedule.
- Most of our volunteers are full time employed elsewhere and might not be available at your preferred time.
- All cats trapped at the address /premise that is stated on this form will be returned.
- Please bear in mind that general anesthesia always carries risks. Our vets are highly experienced but it may happen that a kitty dies under anesthesia while being sterilised.
- It may happen that once a feral kitty is anaesthetized and the general health check is performed, some underlying health issues may be detected. If we are of the opinion that the condition is not treatable and will cause suffering in the animal at a later stage, we may decide to humanely euthanize the cat to prevent future suffering.
- KPFF will under no circumstances consent to the euthanasia of a healthy feral cat.
- All feral cats that are sterilised will have their ears tipped. Tipping of the ear is done when a small portion of the top of the ear is removed under anesthesia. This makes it possible to identify any unsterilised cats in the colony that needs to be targeted for TNR.
- The applicant will ensure that the basic needs of the cats are met daily (Food, water and shelter)
