It's the Garnet Gateau Game Sheau!
As Valentine's Day approaches, are you ready to put your love to the test in an exciting, spicy, and hilarious game sheau? If so- grab your favorite partner (whether romantic or platonic) and join Mani Tokkigo of Kawaii or Kowai fame in a trivia contest!

The format of the show is simple: First, decide on your partner! Any kind of partnership is welcome, including- but not limited to- roomates, platonic friends, soulmates, teammates, siblings, ancient enemies, dance partners, parents and children... the choice is yours, as long as you're both humans over the age of 18! At least one of you must wear a j-fashion of some kind.

Next up, grab your partner and submit a short application video that's between 1 to 3 minutes long! There are no requirements- just show us what you're about, and convince us that you deserve one of the on-camera spots!

After applications close on January 25, we'll choose our  contestants and start preparing trivia questions. Then, on February 5, we'll host the Game Sheau as a streaming panel. Each pair will compete to correctly answer the most trivia questions about one another in their allotted time. The pair who can answer the most questions will be crowned Game Sheau Champions!

The Rules:
1) All applications must be received no later than 11:59 PM PST on January 25, 2021. Late applications will not be considered.
2) You must compete in a pair. Any kind of pair or relationship is fine, and we strongly encourage people to apply with their non-romantic partners!
3) At least one member of your pair must wear some type of Japanese fashion.
4) All applicants must have adequate webcam, audio, and wifi for video streaming.
5) Contestant pairs may stream from the same location, or separately. If streaming separately, both applicants must have adequate webcam, audio, and wifi.
6) Applicants must be available to participate in the panel on the evening of Friday, February 5th (PST). Applicants must also be available for a tech rehearsal in the week preceding the event.
7) Applicants will be selected on the basis of an application video. Applications will be juried by the Bay Area Kei staff. In the video, applicants must answer the following three questions:
a) Tell us about the nature of your pair's relationship.
b) Tell us one funny trivia fact about each partner.
c) Tell us why your partnership deserves to be crowned Game Sheau Champion!

Submissions will be juried based on applicants' video recording/streaming capabilities, personalities, and humor. If your application does not answer all three questions, it will not be considered. Bay Area Kei further reserves the right to reject any applications, for any reason.
