Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Irondale Public Library. We have limited space available. To apply, fill out the form below.

Requirements for the teen volunteer program:
--Applicant must be between the ages of 12-19.
--Applicant should have a capability of alphabetizing and shelving books using the Dewey Decimal System. We will teach this to interested volunteers.
--Applicants and parent/guardian are required to sign a liability form.
--Students who have shown inappropriate behavior in the library during the previous school year, will not be considered for the volunteer program. They may however, apply next year.

What to expect:
Between 2 and 6 hours a week; potential for more depending on the volunteer's interest and productivity.
Volunteer duties may include: helping set up and monitor library events, organizing craft take-home-kits, creating book displays for the teen section, cleaning computer equipment, assisting patrons with basic PC tasks like printing, organizing and filing.
IPL is a Points of Light certifying organization and volunteers are eligible to earn the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. More info: https://presidentialserviceawards.gov/
