President: Must have completed 1 year as a board member or actively participated in PTO events the previous year. Shall serve as leaders and key contacts for the PTO; preside at all PTO meetings; ex-officio member of most committees; appoint chairpersons for special committees; coordinate the work of the officers and committees so that the PTO’s objectives can be met. Responsible for setting agendas for all Board Meetings, Committee Chair Meetings, Special Events; General PTO Meetings. Supervise, direct, and coordinate work of the PTO. Work directly with the principal to maintain a supportive relationship between the school and the PTO. *
Vice President- Previous PTO experience is required (volunteered for at least 2 major events). The Vice President shall act as an aide to the President; perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of that officer to serve; assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Board; coordinate the general activities of any Special Committees created by the Executive Board. Ideally, is willing to serve as President. The Vice President also serves as the Fundraising Committee Chair.  Responsible for assisting the PTO President and other board members to ensure all PTO events are successful. This includes assisting with the brainstorming, planning and operation of activities.   All board members collectively "liaison" the PTO committees to provide support and leadership. Computer skills important. Possible President in the future. *
Treasurer- The Treasurer shall be responsible for and have custody of all funds; make disbursements as properly authorized; be present at all PTO events where money will be collected; assure that PTO policies and best practices are followed with regards to funds; prepare financial reports for each meeting and as needed; prepare the books for an annual audit and tax preparation. Responsible for the financial records and funds of the Organizations. This includes reporting on budgets, accounts payable transactions and reimbursements, accounts receivables, reconciliations and other financial responsibilities. Assists Committee Chairs with obtaining opening cash and closing out events and fundraisers. All board members collectively "liaison" the PTO committees to provide support and leadership. The Recording Secretary shall keep the minutes of all general meetings and all meetings of the Executive Board; prepare correspondence and perform all other duties assigned; maintain master documents; help recruit committee chairpersons for all vacant standing committees of the board; keep the calendar of events for the PTO. Responsible for recording minutes of PTO Board, committee, general meetings as well as recording voting and makes minutes available to view on-line. Responsible for various duties as asked by board such as making badges for committee members, helping with administrative tasks of board and committees, and sending out meeting notices. All board members collectively "liaison" the PTO committees to provide support and leadership. Computer skills important. *
The Communications Secretary manages communications and marketing for the PTO, including but not limited to PTO newsletters, email broadcasts, flyers, posters, website, social media, bulletin boards, etc.  (Effort: on-going, year round; time peaks with a few big events.)

5th Grade Fundraising & Farewell Party Committee Chair -Build a team and come up with a fundraiser for 5th grade students to do to raise money in the Spring for their farewell party in May; run the fundraiser and plan/coordinate farewell party. Ideas and previous years' information are available to you to get you started.

Yearbook Committee Chair - yearlong commitment, build a team to take pictures throughout the year of all Marek events and create yearbook. Software support is provided to make it simple, even for someone with little experience.

OPEN POSITION - Staff Welcome Back Committee Chair - plan for the week before school starts in AUGUST; plan the welcome back meal for teachers and staff, attend Meet the Teacher Night representing PTO and welcome families. Ideas from past events on how to coordinate this are available. If interested, please add your name below.
OPEN POSITION - Fundraising Committee Co-Chair - yearlong commitment, work with VP to come up with ideas for fundraising in addition to Marek fun Run and VIP Car Rider Auction; get sponsorship from businesses, and plan spirit nights throughout the year. If interested, please add your name below.
OPEN POSITION - International Festival Committee Chair - build a team, plan and coordinate Festival event that occurs in APRIL; ideas and previous year's information are available to you to help you get started. If interested, please add your name below.
OPEN POSITION - Holiday Store Committee Chair - build a team, plan and coordinate this week-long event that occurs in DECEMBER; ideas and previous years' information are available to you to help you get started, as well as items available to sell at event have already been purchased. If interested, please add your name below.
Teacher and Staff Birthday Committee - yearlong commitment but can be prepped all at once; build a team (only 2-3 people needed for this committee). Collect birthday lists from the Marek secretary, plan and purchase gifts, coordinate gift delivery method and dates throughout the school year; easy commitment. Can rotate committee members to deliver gifts each month (or once every couple of months). If interested, please add your name below.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Committee - build a team and plan appreciation day(s) for teachers and staff in MAY during Teacher Appreciation Week. If interested, please add your name below.
