Open to: High school students of rising sophomore level or older who are interested interested in a career in the trades. Students from both vocational schools and non-vocational schools are encouraged to apply.

About the program: Participants in the program will spend a week in mechanical contractor JC Cannistraro's working fabrication shop receiving hands-on mentorship from master tradespeople. Students will complete pipe and sheet metal projects and will learn about career paths in the construction trades. Students will also spend a day touring union training centers. Breakfast, lunch, vouchers for work boots, and assistance with transportation is provided. This is a free, educational experience. It is not a working, paid job opportunity.

Application Process: Once you complete the below application, a Cannistraro staff member will be in touch to schedule an interview. We accept 14 students into the program.

The program begins each day at 8 AM and ends at 2:30 PM. Students are expected to arrive on time and stay for the length of the day. How would you plan to get to and from our facility?

Our fabrication Facility is located at 25 Fid Kennedy Ave, Boston, MA. It is a short walk from the Tide Street stop on the Silver Line (SL2) and a limited number of parking spots are available onsite for those who drive. We will also work to arrange ride shares for students who need help with transportation.
