Nomadic Youth - Feeling Safe Survey
This is a short survey for young people to contribute ideas as to how Nomadic Youth events can both be safe and feel safe for everyone attending. The findings here will remain anonymous and will be used to update our safeguarding policy so that anyone attending our workshops can do so feeling safe.

The main focus here is about feelings; our policy so far extends to how we can prevent harassment, violence, abuse, discrimination or exclusion and how to challenge it if it happens, but we need to do more to ensure that people FEEL safe as well. Please offer as much as you would like to and be assured that whatever you put here, it will remain 100% confidential.

The survey will start by asking for your age and then how you identify as a person/how you describe your background. We have chosen to leave this open so you can describe yourself rather than ticking boxes. We ask that you share as many aspects of your identity as you feel comfortable doing, as we want to make our spaces safe for all intersectional identities. For example, an answer to this question might read "I am a trans female of colour" or "I am a neurodivergent working-class male". All identities and intersectionalities are valid here.

The survey will then ask open questions about what makes a space feel safe and what makes a space feel unsafe for you. This includes accessibility. Again, we are not asking you to tick boxes as we want you to be able to express your thoughts and feelings in your own words.

REMEMBER: This is completely confidential.

Thank you so much for taking part!

The Mix
If discussing any of these points have made you feel like you want to seek support, we recommend the youth service, The Mix, which offers loads of advice for young people under 25 as well as various ways to get in contact for support.

Being a very small, growing organisation, Nomadic Youth doesn't have the capacity to provide such a service just yet, so we really recommend that you check out The Mix:
