BSU Membership Form 2021-2022
Hey all! Welcome to the 2021-2022 academic year! The BSU is so excited to welcome you into the community, please fill out this short form so that we can best keep you in contact with the people, faculty, mentors, and events that keep campus fun! By us and for us.

Also! Are you interested in joining a BSU committee? All committee members are a part of the foundation of the BSU and can directly influence how the organization carries out its functions, and supports our membership! Use this form to submit your preferences! Feel free to email bsu-exec@mit.edu or any of the committee leads below with any questions.

General Info:

(1) Social and Cultural Committee: Organize activities of a wide spectrum to enhance the social and cultural development of Black students such as cookouts, mixers (on and off campus), and Ebony Affair.
- POC: Elsa Itambo '22 (eitambo@mit.edu)

(2) Political Action Committee (PAC): Raise awareness of issues that affect black people to the MIT community (faculty, students, staff, administrators) and create systems of accountability to ensure our needs are met. At the end-of-year help to create the annual State of the Black Community Report.

(3) Financial Committee: Raise and procure funds for BSU activities in various ways like through fundraising events and application to grants.

(4) Judicial Committee: (1) Work on reviewing and revising the BSU Constitution to create a stronger, more useful document; (2) Help improve the Council for the Advancement of Black Students by collaborating with the Attorney General.

(5) Communication Committee: Take pictures at events, have a webmaster dedicated to the website, upkeep the BSU bulletin boards, publicize BSU and related events, collect and organize all records of BSU activities, send out some BSU mailings.
