Registration for the 2024 Chemistry Alumni Networking at UM (ALUM|NUM) and Undergraduate Research and Networking at UM (URAN|UM) events on Thursday, July 25th.
Alum|NUM (pronounced “aluminum”) stands for Alumni Networking at University of Michigan. The purpose of this graduate student-run event is to connect Chemistry department alumni to current graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty to enable graduate students and post docs to learn from the wealth of experiences of the department's alumni.
URAN|UM (pronounced “uranium”), our sister event, stands for Undergraduate Research and Networking at University of Michigan. The purpose of this graduate student-run event is to connect undergraduates in chemistry related departments at or near UMich to faculty, alumni, and current graduate students at UMich. We aim to enable professional development of these undergraduates, showcase the resources of our department to students from PUIs, and provide a way for students to gain experience presenting research.
Since 2015, Alum|NUM and URAN|UM events have taken place the day before the annual Karle Symposium. This year’s Alum|NUM and URAN|UM events will be held Thursday, July 25th, 2024 in person. The festivities will include:
• A networking reception
• Various professional development activities
• Academic and industrial career panels, and
• An undergraduate poster session (URAN|UM)
This year's event will be held in person. A finalized schedule will be released soon as the organizing committee is finalizing decisions soon! In the mean time, alumni please block off your calendars if you are willing and able to help out with the speed interviewing and/or cv workshop.
