The BTUTK tournament will be held on Saturday the 1st of July 2023 from 10:00 till 17:00 at the location mentioned below. The pubquiz will take place from 17:00-18:00. These times may be adjusted. A copy of your registration will be sent to the mail address that is used. It is possible to adjust the answers, even after finishing this form. For general questions, send a message to utk@diok.nl.

General provisions: This tournament is played according to the general match regulations, the tournament regulations and the implementing regulations 'Richtlijnen voor het organiseren van toernooien' of Badminton Nederland.

Specific provisions: 1. Eligibility to play Anyone with a position at the university, Saxion and (former) members of D.B.V. DIOK can participate. Members of DIOK have priority to participate.

2. Registration Levels a. Expert (sixth division and above; feather shuttles). b. Intermediate/Recreational (seventh- and eighth division; nylon shuttles). c. Beginner (ninth division and below; nylon shuttles). e. Participants are free to register in higher categories than mentioned above. f. The tournament organization always has the right to place a player in the category they think is the right category according to their game level.

3. Events a. The categories participants can register for are: Mens single (MS), Womens single (WS) and Doubles (D). A doubles pair may consist of any combination of any gender. b. Registration is possible in a maximum of two categories. c. Registering twice in the same event is not possible. d. Players will need to keep in mind that when they register for two categories there is the possibility that they have to play matches with little time in between.

4. Tournament system a. The tournament is played according to Swiss-system. b. If the participation in an event is too low or the sponsors cancel their support, the tournament committee reserves the right to play the event in a group system or to cancel the event. c. In case an event is to be dropped from the tournament, the participants that registered for that event will be informed about it. e. Games are played in two games, without two points difference.Under normal circumstances, a game is played till 21. However, based on the amount of sign-ups, the length of a game may be adjusted

5. Registrations a. Registration fee per event per person is completely free. b. Registration for doubles requires both participants of the couple to be signed up or both participants to state that a partner is still being sought (choose ‘partner wanted’). c. The limit of sign-ups is set at 150. After this limit has been reached, sign-ups will not be taken into account, but in case of a cancellation the earlier registration and the registrations of DIOK members will receive priority in partaking in the tournament. d. A registration can be cancelled by mailing utk@diok.nl with the corresponding mailing address.

6. Deadlines a. The registration closes Tuesday 27th of June at 23:59. b. The deadline for cancellation is Wednesday 28th of June 23:59

7. Shuttles a. In the expert level the matches will be played with feather shuttles. b. In all other levels the matches will be played with nylon shuttles (will also be provided). If both parties in a match agree to use a different shuttle, the proposed shuttle may be used. c. Feather shuttles can be bought during the tournament in the sportscentre.

8. Other provisions a. Participation in the tournament is entirely at your own risk and the organization will not accept any liability for costs incurred as a result of loss or theft of property, personal injury or any other form of damage incurred as a result of participation in the tournament or other activities. b. Misconduct at the tournament may result in immediate exclusion from the tournament and all related activities. c. By registering for the tournament you automatically accept the privacy policy of D.B.V. DIOK which you can read via https://www.diok.utwente.nl/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Privacy-Policy-1.0.pdf. d. In situations not covered by these regulations, the tournament committee’s decision is binding.
