I enjoy the single-player content; story modes, arcade modes, RPG modes, ect.

Just goofing around with friends.

Rising through the ranks online.

Practicing cool shit in training mode/combo trials.

Yes; much more than other competitive genres like shooters and MOBAs?

Something in the middle. Not too fast/slow, combos aren't too long/short, balance between restrictive and freeform.

Fast-paced adrenaline rush games with tons of freedom and creativity/longer combos on average.

Slow-paced reaction-based games with more restrictive movement/shorter combos on average.
