Cruel Consequences                                      Video Contest Submission
Hundreds of you have been wanting us to tell your marijuana criminalization story. We wish we could tell EVERY MARIJUANA CONVICTION STORY to educate lawmakers and the public, but unfortunately because there are so many people still getting arrested for marijuana possession, we can't feature everyone in our portrait series. So, here is your chance to tell us in a 15 second or less video we will compile and use to educate both lawmakers and the public how marijuana prohibition is harming people.

Cruel Consequences is a portrait series exhibit to bring awareness to how marijuana charges in the U.S. are ruining lives. These portraits are part of both a physical traveling gallery exhibit which appeared across Virginia for Virginians and lawmakers to experience these powerful stories and now is expanding to cover unjust marijuana consequences across the U.S.

Collateral consequences like denial of housing, employment, college loans, child custody etc. often last a lifetime after even the smallest of marijuana convictions. No matter how you feel about marijuana, most people agree people should not pay for life. Much of the public is not aware of these collateral consequences.

Please visit our website cruelconsequences.org to find out more and please like us on facebook, instagram, and twitter.

Please reach out to friends, family, other marijuana law reform supporters to help us find compelling stories that show the cruelty of the collateral consequences from criminal enforcement of marijuana prohibition.
