Thank you for your interest in hosting a Teaching Artists Training Institute Regional Practicum during the 2023-2024 school year. Regional Practicums offer fully-funded professional development opportunities for Teaching Artists working with El Sistema-inspired or community music programs. Through the Host application process, chosen organizations will have the opportunity to craft the Regional Practicum to align with their program’s greatest needs and areas for growth. Organizations are welcome to apply either as an individual Host OR to apply together with a neighboring program to Co-Host.
TATI will hold five Regional Practicums in the 2023-2024 school year. This year's regions are anticipated to be defined as follows:
- WEST AND PACIFIC NORTHWEST: CA, NV, OR, WA
*Note: TATI will not be accepting host applications from Northern CA for the 2023-2024 school year. - MIDWEST: IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, WI
- SOUTHWEST AND ROCKY MOUNTAINS: AZ, CO, NM, OK, TX, UT
- NORTHEAST: CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, NJ, PA, RI, VT, Canada
- SOUTHEAST: AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, SC
*Note: TATI will begin alternating Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Regions each year. A Mid-Atlantic Regional Practicum will be offered in the 2024-2025 school year.
If your state is not listed, you are still welcome to submit an application, with the understanding that priority will be given to the locations that are listed above.

To be eligible as a host organization for a 2023-2024 TATI Regional Practicum, your organization...
- Is a designated K-12 music education nonprofit organization in the US or Canada,
- Demonstrates a commitment to social change through music,
- Enrolls a majority of students who have little or no access to high-quality music instruction outside of this program,
- Provides free or significantly reduced cost for program participants,
- Utilizes majority group instruction through instrumental ensembles, group practice, and sectionals,
- Has a consistent weekly class schedule that is offered more than two days per week,
- Has not hosted a TATI Regional Practicum during the past two school years (2021-2023).
