Mrs. Nadine B. McMillon was the first PTSA President at Coral Reef Senior High in 1997, when her now adult children were students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Her dedication to the school, students, faculty and staff, as well as her community, was unparalleled. There are no words to properly describe Mrs. McMillon's commitment to the mission statement of our beloved Florida PTSA. She inspired other parents and grandparents to actively participate in the PTSA and other community service activities. The Coral Reef PTSA honors her legacy as a community activist by awarding this scholarship to three worthy seniors of Coral Reef High School.

A one-time scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 will be awarded to the three winning applicants. An applicant must be a graduating senior, 2024 financial member of the Coral Reef PTSA, who will be attending a 4-year college/university. Payment will be released upon confirmation of enrollment to which the scholarship recipient has been accepted. The acceptable proof of attendance is a copy of the official class registration for the fall term of 2024 that must be received to have funds released.
All qualifying applicants are required to participate in a personal interview as part of the selection process. Qualifying applicants will receive the date, time, and location of interviews. Relatives or guardians of applicants will not be allowed to participate in the application review, interview, or selection process.
Selection tools, selection criteria, video essays or other data used in evaluating candidates will not be shared with applicants, their parents or any other persons who are not members of the interview/selection process.
The decisions of the Selection Committee shall be final and binding. Explanations or rationale for decisions made will not be provided to any applicant or parent. Applicants and parents agree to respect the integrity of the process and the members of the Selection Committee.
