Longwood Chorus Audition Interest Form

Welcome! The Longwood Chorus is Boston's medical & science choir and we are humbled to be one of few such ensembles in the world. We welcome singers affiliated with Boston-area medical, healthcare, and/or science institutions. Our mission is to decrease medical burnout, promote emotional wellness, and perform high-quality choral music.

**Update January 2023** We are no longer scheduling auditions for the Spring 2023 semester. If you'd like to be notified of future auditions (i.e. Fall 2023), please complete this form. Auditions for Fall 2023 will likely take place in August. Thanks!

FAQ: When do we rehearse? Tuesdays at ~7pm (1.5-2hr duration)

What level of musicianship is needed? We are an auditioned 70-voice ensemble with a high level of musicianship. The majority of our singers have prior choral experience or music background (i.e. playing an instrument or participating in other music ensembles), though prior experience is not required.

What do we sing? Our programs are thoughtfully crafted and span a diverse range, from Renaissance motets to commissions by living composers. Past repertoire includes: Fauré's Requiem, Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzes, Arvo Pärt's Seven Magnificat Antiphons as well as pieces by Caroline Shaw, Melissa Dunphy, Carol Barnett, Moses Hogan, and others.

COVID Precautions: Only individuals with proof of full vaccination status will be permitted to sing. Masks must be worn throughout rehearsals to participate in the chorus.
