Public Liability InsuranceThe conditions of our Public Entertainment License issued by the Local Government Authority states that all competitors must have Public Liability Insurance equivalent to or in excess of £5 million GBP. (copies to be provided once confirmed as a competitor).
Due to a change in the Terms and Conditions by UK Insurance Companies in recent times they will no longer able to cover non UK residents as part of our event insurance.
The advice from our insurers is that International Carvers should source International Public Liability Insurance from a provider in their country of residence which covers them to compete internationally.
Sale of Carvings- Carvers keep 100% of the sale price of their main piece.
- Carve Carrbridge, on behalf of Carrbridge village, keeps 100% of the sale price of the Quick Carve pieces( 30 minutes)
- In the event that a Quick Carve piece makes more than a carver’s main piece Carve Carrbridge will pay the carver the difference.
Prize Money:Accommodation:- 2 nights’ shared accommodation in the village is offered free of charge for the Friday and Saturday evenings of the event.
- For international carvers an additional 1 night will be provided in advance of the event.
- Carvers choosing this option will also be given £20/carver/night towards their meal costs.
- Alternatively a subsidy of £50/carver per night is offered on the Friday and Saturday evenings for those choosing to use BnB accommodation in the village.
- Carvers are responsible for any top up to the accommodation providers rates.
- Camping is also offered free of charge in the school grounds on the Friday and Saturday evenings. Carvers choosing this option will be given £50/carver/night towards their meal costs.
Hospitality:- up to 2 wristbands are provided for Free entry to the event and to access lunch for the carver and a family member during the event.
- A modest meal is provided immediately after the event and stovies are provided at the Ceilidh on the Saturday evening by Carrbridge Hotel
- A family Ceilidh is run on the Saturday night in Carrbridge Village Hall, with free entry for carvers and a family member.(although the beer has to be paid for ☺)
- Additional Tickets will be available online to Carvers through a Priority Booking scheme.
