This legislative session, we have a historic opportunity to bring local public banks to New York that advance racial equity and a just recovery. As state legislators prepare to return to Albany in January, let them know that local public banking needs to be a top priority!

Hi, my name is _____ and I'm a constituent. I'm calling to urge Senator/Assemblymember _____ to co-sponsor the New York Public Banking Act.  Public money should be used for the public good and that's why we need local public banks. A public bank would allow us put our public money to work for our communities, instead of shareholders and Wall St. executives. The New York Public Banking Act would create a framework for local public banking, giving local governments like ours a pathway to create local public banks that advance racial equity and a just recovery.  New Yorkers need local public banking and that's why I'm calling to urge you to pass the New York Public Banking Act this session.
