Call-in Script

Hi, my name is _____ and I'm a constituent. I'm calling to urge Senator/Assemblymember _____ to co-sponsor the New York Public Banking Act.  Public money should be used for the public good and that's why we need local public banks. A public bank would allow us put our public money to work for our communities, instead of shareholders and Wall St. executives. The New York Public Banking Act would create a framework for local public banking, giving local governments like ours a pathway to create local public banks that advance racial equity and a just recovery.  New Yorkers need local public banking and that's why I'm calling to urge you to pass the New York Public Banking Act this session. Will you support this bill? Thank you.
