The Quartermaster (QM) historically is a military officer responsible for providing quarters, rations, clothing, and other supplies. At the Gulch, this person works with the Program Staff on tasks like packing and unpacking the commissary truck of gear, splitting up group gear for backpacking, and generally setting a good example of caring for gear.

The Cook's Assistant (CA) works with the Cook on trek to plan, prepare, and serve meals.

Both the QM and the CA arrive 3 days prior to the start of the trek to work with the staff to prepare.
