When we are looking to place a puppy, we determine each placement based on our assessment of that specific puppy’s personality and temperament, and then we look at the role the new puppy will play in their new family, and the expectations or needs of the new family. We carefully evaluate each puppy’s temperament as the puppy grows up in order to make this determination.
We work with prospective owners to choose which puppy would work best for them from this litter, if any. It is our number one priority for the puppy to have a happy, lifetime home with equally happy owners, and find this is the best way to ensure mutual happiness.
While prospective owners may choose to limit what sex and color puppy they would prefer, we do not encourage this. Prospective owners who do so must be aware that this will limit their chances of getting of getting a puppy from a specific litter, since the puppy of that color and/or sex in the litter may not be the best match for them.
When matching puppies to their new owners, we try to be as efficient as possible in the decision making process, but we do not begin making final decisions about which homes individual puppies go to until the puppies have reached 7-10 weeks of age when overall health, temperament, structure and movement can be clearly evaluated. (Puppies do not leave for their new homes before they are 9 weeks old, with 10 weeks being the typical and normal time frame)
Please be aware that the careful and responsible breeding of puppies on a limited basis is NOT a made-to-order business in regard to sex, color, temperament or quality (show or companion). *
