Bee Safari Interest Form
In November 2022 we took a group of 15 beekeepers (and beekeepers' friends!) on a bee safari to Malawi.  We spent the 10 days viewing the amazing wildlife of Malawi, including zebras, elephants, lions, hippos, buffalo, and so much more.  We also had several beekeeper immersion experiences and service opportunities, where we met with local beekeepers to learn more about their practices and to bring them much needed equipment and new skills. We also spent a full day at the amazing Jacaranda School for Orphans, spending the day with the amazing children, sharing our love of bees and assisting their new beekeeping club. This once in a lifetime opportunity did not disappoint, and we are preparing for our 2023 experience.  We will once again lead a group of beekeepers and bee lovers to Malawi to again experience the wonders of nature the country has to offer, and to build on our beekeeping relationships to continue to help the beekeepers of Malawi as they work to make beekeeping a livelihood to help raise their families and pay for their children's school fees.

Agenda, timing, pricing will be announced soon. But we estimate the trip to be under $5,000 per person, which will include all meals, accommodations, guides, park fees, and transportation in country. This will not include airfare, visas, and alcoholic beverages.

The opportunity to sign up will open again soon! If you are interested, please complete the below form and we will contact you as soon as registration is open. Spots again will be limited for this unique experience, and once those spots are filled registration will be closed until 2024.  A deposit of 30% will be due at sign up.   Note completing the below form does not commit you to the trip, but rather you are first to learn when registration is open.

More details coming soon, but feel free to email me, Tara, at tara@twohiveshoney.com with questions.

Comments/questions:
We will work to build on the relationships we established with community beekeepers in our first trip to continue to aid Malawi beekeepers in increasing their yield and increasing the products they have to sell at market to help improve their livelihood of their families.
Augusten is one of the beekeepers we had the fortune of meeting.  We shared lots of new and gently used equipment with the beekeepers, and Augusten really loved receiving Adrienne's helmet and veil.
A highlight for all was getting to spend 1.5 days with the children of the Jacaranda School for Orphans, teaching the kids about bees and sharing knowledge and equipment with the beekeeping club of 32 secondary students.  Our trip in 2023 will also include a visit to the school.
