Hello! We're so excited you're ready to apply for Chewonki's 2024 "Maine Rivers, Trails, and Waves" summer program. This program is 100% free for participating families, including any equipment, clothing, and transportation needs.

We are able to offer this program at zero-cost to you, thanks to grant funding made possible by the Maine Department of Education and the Maine Outdoor Learning Initiative.

We are asking each family to fill out this brief form to make sure you are qualified for this free program. If you have any questions or need help filling out this form, please email Elly Thomas, Chewonki Trip Coordinator, outdoors@chewonki.org or call (207) 656-5001.

At this point in time, we are only accepting waitlist applications as we have received a lot of interest in this program. We anticipate moving through the waitlist in the next couple of weeks so encourage you to apply. Elly Thomas, the Chewonki Trip Coordinator, will reach out to you in order of application if a spot becomes available.

This program is designed to offer students a rigorous backcountry experience in nature without access to many common support services. Chewonki has a list of Essential Eligibility Criteria that explains the physical, social, and emotional criteria needed to complete these courses successfully.
