Hush/Hush and Atelierwerking De Tank are organising the Input/Output series with Anja Hellebaut on 14 June, two free workshops to support young artists in submitting a portfolio for Open Calls such as Input/Output.
Input/Output is a biennial competition for young contemporary visual art organised by Cultuurcentrum Brugge since 2005. Through this call, young artists aged between 17 and 34 are asked to submit a portfolio presenting their work. The deadline is 30 June and we are eager to give you that final push!
Presenting your work to others is best done in an exhibition, but often it is through photographs that your work reaches an audience: in a portfolio, on a website or via social media. You can hire a photographer for this, but it is an advantage if you can take high-quality photos yourself. In this workshop, Anja Hellebaut explains some basic principles to help you achieve good results with your own smartphone. She also gets you started on writing a text about yourself and your work.
Anja Hellebaut works as a photographer on her own work and freelances on assignments around architecture and/or urban planning. She is the founder of mentor mentor, a sounding board that offers support to photographers who want to grow in their artistic practice. She also invents and co-designs exhibition concepts for museums.
