2023-2024 DATA @ Adams- Schedule Change Request
PLEASE READ: COMPLETION OF THIS REQUEST DOES NOT GUARANTEE A SCHEDULE CHANGE. STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW PRESENT SCHEDULE UNTIL THEY RECEIVE OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION OF A CHANGE!!! THE COUNSELING DEPARTMENT WILL NOTIFY YOU WHEN AND IF YOUR SCHEDULE HAS BEEN UPDATED.
All requests for schedule changes by students and/or parents will begin August 14th thru August 26th. Only CORE classes and Accelerated Instruction classes for House Bill 4545 scheduling errors will be made during the first week of school. Leveling of the aforementioned classes will also dictate how students schedules/requests are fulfilled. AVID and advanced level fine arts & elective classes will need teacher approval/interview before scheduling. Requests will be processed in the order they are received, and if the class is available. Parents and students will be notified regarding schedule change decisions within 72 hours.
Schedule changes will be made for the following reasons:
1. Academic misplacement – Student is placed in the wrong level of class (Honors/GT vs. regular pace) or is placed in a class without meeting the pre-requisite (Did not meet requirement on STAAR).
2. Program/Elective change- Student has been accepted into an academic program or the student is no longer enrolled in a specific program of study (choir, band, orchestra, etc.).
3. Missing an academic class- Student is missing a core class such as English, Social Studies, Math, or Science.
4. To balance classes so that overcrowding does not occur.
